Why is it a good idea to irrigate with reclaimed water or install a separate water meter. If you water your lawn in the Orlando or Lake Mary area and you are doing so with regular water you are wasting a lot of money. Why is that you ask well every time you are watering your lawn with potable or house water the city is charging you a waste charge. So they are charging you double for your water because they are figuring any water that goes into the home is leaving via the sewer, so they charge you sewer charge even though it is not going down the sewer. So how can you fix this hear are a few ways.
1. Switch to reclaimed water, find out if your neighborhood has reclaimed water. If it does call a local Orlando plumber to hook you up to your reclaimed water meter and disconnect your other water meter. This is the best option because you will not only get rid of the sewer charges for watering your lawn but reclaimed water is also much cheaper.
2. If your neighborhood does not have reclaimed water then call the city of Orlando, Lake Mary or what ever city you reside and see if they can install a water meter just for irrigation. If this is done then you will not be charged sewer charges when watering the lawn. You will have to call a plumbing company to tie the meter to your irrigation system.
