There are many reasons to do an Orlando repipe whether you are replacing polybutylene or have to replace your aging copper piping. But what is the best piping to use? Many plumbing companies that have been around will tell you PEX or Cross-linked polyethylene, commonly abbreviated PEX or XLPE is superior. So is it? Well throughout the years of doing repipes in Orlando Florida we used CPVC or chlorinated polyvinyl chloride which i thought was the best pipe to do repipes after years of doing Orlando repipes in CPVC and taking days to finish an Orlando repipe and also noticing that older repipes done in CPVC were getting extremely brittle due to the harsh Orlando water , I decided to try PEX piping. After switching to PEX to do repipes i noticed the manufacture warranty was far better than CPVC and the PEX was very eco friendly because you did not have to use harsh glues to join the piping. It also was more flexible therefore you used less fittings and less fittings means less chances for plumbing leaks and also better pressure.
Over the years since we switched to PEX piping we have had less call backs and our repipes have gone a lot smoother. The down side is that PEX pipe is the same price as CPVC but the fittings are metal and cost a lot more than CPVC fittings but the job goes a lot quicker and is less labor intensive, so the cost is really offset. Overall hands down PEX is the way to go if you are thinking about doing a repipe. It is very durable and you will be happy you made the choice of a PEX repipe. There is one other thing about PEX piping and really any pipe you use for a repipe when you do a repipe in Orlando Florida the lines are ran in the attic and if you have a problem with rodents you should not poison them. The poison makes them thirsty and they will chew through the pipe and create a major plumbing emergency. If you need an Orlando repipe call Drain Genie Plumbing at 407-710-0210.
