A leaking hose spigot can be very aggravating because it causes high water bills and stains on the outside of your home. Many customers feel its just a washer or they think it will just unscrew and the Apopka plumber just has to screw it back on, but this is far from the truth. While sometimes hose bibs or spigots can leak from the packing and this usually only requires tightening down the packing nut, most times a leaking hose spigot is not just changing washers. If you can take the bib apart and install a new washer chances are it won’t last long at all. The only way to fix an old leaking hose spigot is replacing it and it usually requires the Apopka plumber to chip a hole in the concrete wall and cutting out the old bib and replacing it. The hole is usually only 6 inches in diameter and most Apopka plumbing companies don’t patch the hole but we at Drain Genie Plumbing include hole patching in our price of replacement. Anytime you have a leaking hose spigot 8 times out of 10 you will be replacing it and we thought we would let our customers know that it is definitely more involved than just unscrewing and screwing on. If you have an annoying hose bib that need to be replaced, please call us at 407-710-0210. We will handle the plumbing repair and the patch.
